Piano Tuning

Piano Tuning

Keeping your instrument in tune makes playing and listening more enjoyable. Acoustic pianos naturally lose their tune with changes in humidity which causes the wood of the soundboard to expand and contract, causing pitch to become sharp or flat. Our recommendation for a tuning schedule depends on where the piano is located and how much it is played. For churches, which typically have a difficult time controlling temperature and humidity levels, the piano should be tuned every 3 - 6 months. For a home piano, every 6 - 12 months is typical. The more demands placed upon the instrument, then the more often it should be tuned. Concert instruments are typically tuned monthly, or more often, and receive a fine tuning before each performance. Given the specialized nature of this craft, you need a piano technician (or piano tuner) who you can depend on for the life of your piano. Piano Player System Installation

Piano Player System Installation

Piano player systems have been around since the mid-to-late nineteenth century and previously relied on paper rolls and vacuum pressure to make the piano play. Today's modern systems, however, are computer based and are much quieter and more accurate. Having a piano player system installed means that you can enjoy listening to your piano anytime, even if there is no one there to play. Simply select the song you would like to hear from the CD or external media and hit play. You can even extrapolate piano parts from regular audio CDs with some systems. A number of todays player systems feature video screens so that you can display lyrics and customize your playlists. With over a decade of experience installing player systems, The Piano Experts can retrofit your current piano with a state-of-the-art system that will bring you many years of enjoyment.
